Hosny Abd Rabou - Player of The Tournament Do you agree that Hosny Abd Rabou was the best player in Ghana or were there other players that could have been considered as the MTN African Cup of Nations Player of the tournament?

For me Hosni Abdi was by far the best player of the tournament. He didnot only shine at te finals but also lifted and led the Pharaohs when they lost track. He single handedly destroyed Angola before he went on to eliminate IvoryCoast. I beleive he deserved more than that.

I've got nothing but the utmost respect for Hosni, he gave me nightmares during the Finals. He gets much respect from this Cameroonian.

I think Hosny did well. but there were players that showed glimpses of brilliance than the said player, no disrespects intended though. A player like Mohamed Zidan did well,Sulley Muntari and Essien were in their explosive form. I think the committee should have taken a meticulous look at the nominations

Seeing as you're an egyptian I thought you would've said AbuTreka but yet again your name shows your true colours (Zamalek fan/Ahly Hater) and you seem to be praising Hadary just because of his move away from Ahly eventhough I agree that He along with the others players you mentioned were the best players in the Egyptian Side, But treka was second best after Hosny in my opinion

Not a lot of people noticed this, but the most influential players in the tournament were Amr Zaki, Essam El Hadary, Hosny Abd Rabu and Hani Said. Amr Zaki was the only player powerful enough to shrugg off the tough African defenders and he went for literaaly EVERY ball, Essam El Hadary was brilliant as usual, Hosny Abd Rabu was efficient in attack and defence and Hani Said was super-efficient in defence.

I reside in Kumasi and watched all of Egypt's matches here in Kumasi including their 4-1 whacking of the pundits tournament winners Cote D'Ivoire in the Semi-Finals and must say though I'm Ghanaian, Ghana would have lost to Egypt with our Home support if we had qualified to the finals. The main Arsenal in the Pharoah squad to me is Hosny Abd Rabou. Though relatively known to Fans outside Egypt before the CAN 2008, Hosny gave a good account of himself outshining well known stars in the Egyptian team like Abu Terika, Amr Zaki, Wael Gomaa, Al Hadary and M. Zidan. To me He deserves the award.

well the technical men have spoken so no need to argue. but i think essien deserved the award regardless of ghana not winning the cup. Essien also played all the matches and even scored fantastic goals, and won 2 best player awards.

Can we have a separate topic on GHANA being the best in Africa.Is IT ONLY 'CAUSE they beat Nigeria?I mean they struggled to get to the semifinals beating Namibia 1-0.Egygt were cruising and having fun in this tournamet.

He was the most consistent.Many players did not meet our expectations.Some only played well in certain games like Yakubu and MIKKEL only came to the party in the quarterfinals.I also don't Essien and Muntari were consistent.Egypt were the only team that produced 4 or 5 consistent players

OF Course Abd Rabou Deserves to be the best player simply he was combining between the abilities of eto and essien scoring attacking defending with a very high composure of course and manucho's goal was because of the wawa aba i think else El Hadary would stop it easily

I think Amr Zaki shouldn've taken best player. He scored alot of goals and he was overall a fantastic player.

i think hosni deserves it, goals, assists and superb defending and passing, he has it all, not to mention he's only 23!Abu treka is also worthy of being mentioned as a strong contender, this guys delivers everytime Egypt or Ahly need him, Bless him!

I think Hadary the goalkeeper from Egypt should win the award.He saved Egypt many times against Ivory Coast and was solid through the holl tournament...Hosni was good to,don't get me wrong...
